This week was an emotional rollercoaster for investors. The volatility was probably embraced by traders, but I’m sure it wasn’t easy for them either. I can say for a fact that although I made out ok, there were times where if I didn’t act quickly, I would have been in trouble.

XLE NEARS INTERMEDIATE TERM SUPPORT ON THE DAILY CHART
The perception of a us recession is causing a pullback in the energy sector. As of mid-January, the energy sector's ETF - XLE has entered the upper end of an intermediate support zone. Only a full blown recession is likely to cause the xlf to fall through this support zone and prompt a re-evaluation of underlying price support
